Overview
Loveland stands in contrast to its bigger neighbors on the other side of the pass. The mountains themselves are the highlight here and with the proximity to Loveland Pass, skiing the backcountry has never been easier.
Between skiing Loveland Pass, and the Basin and Valley which comprise Loveland, skiing is as pure as it comes.

Mountain Activities
Loveland takes a different approach to skiing and snowboarding than most mountain resorts. The spotlight is on the mountain itself, not the surrounding amenities.
There is significant hiking access to the backcountry for independent exploring. And not forgetting its snowboarding contingent, there are a number of terrain parks scattered throughout the area, ready to be worked.
Services
There are shops providing hats, sweaters, goggles and other equipment as well as restaurants for a much-needed lunch break. Ski/snowboard rentals are available, as are repairs and tuning. The ski shop will be happy to let skiers demo skis on sale.
Lessons are available from the Loveland Ski and Ride School. Childcare is available and affordable at the Loveland Nursery.
Loveland provides free parking at both the Valley and the Basin. Shuttles are provided free of charge between the areas.
