Breckenridge Colorado
> Copper Mountain Colorado

Copper Mountain is a true ski town, with nearly everything centering around mountain activities, including hiking, biking, skiing and ice skating, or entertaining the visitors during their much needed rest time.

Overview

When a ski resort starts with a near-perfect ski mountain and is properly planned and developed by an industry mogul, it's not surprising that the result is the modern resort at Copper Mountain.

The village at the base of the ski area is actually only a few years old but makes visitors feel like they are really on vacation. Most streets in the Center Village are blocked off for pedestrian use, where cafes, restaurants, bars, boutiques and equipment stores are easily accessible.

The town has developed as the ski area has become increasingly popular, therefore the focus centers around resort activities and backcountry access year round.

Location

Copper Mountain is situated in the heart of Summit County, 75 miles west of Denver. The village is located on I-70, at the junction of the Tenmile and Gore range.

Lodging and Services

While the town may not be large, the ski resort attracts enough visitors to hold a good selection of hotels, restaurants and retail shops. And as a resort town, businesses cater to visitors, making them feel as comfortable as possible.

With nearly everything within walking distance, you'll find yourself discovering the types of places that keep visitors coming back year after year.

Activities

For skiing and snowboarding, the great thing about Copper Mountain is that the terrain is naturally divided by difficulty. If you are a beginner, there's no way to get lost and find yourself on a run past your ability level.

Most of the ski area is facing north and therefore holds snow well in the winter. Old fires have left sparse mountain sides, making wide open spaces for winter recreation. Copper Mountain, Colorado is really a great place for skiers of all abilities.

As Copper Mountain sits within Arapaho National Forest, you also have summer access to trails for biking, hiking, horseback riding, and backpacking.  There is also a popular golf course, so don't forget your clubs.

Attractions

However, Copper Mountain, CO isn't all about skiing. The village is bustling throughout the summer with live music, festivals, craft fairs, laser light shows, and art showings.
